Triddana, founded in 2011, have come all they way from Argentina with a mixture of Scottish and Irish folk music and energetic, powerfully played heavy metal. The name of the band is an adaptation of the Irish word „troideanna“, which means „fights“ or „battles“. Its members are: Juan José Fornés (Vocals and guitars), Pablo Allen, (Highland bagpipes and tin whistle), Diego Rodríguez (Bass) and Joaquín Franco (Drums).
Their first album, „Ripe for Rebellion“, was released in 2012 and garnered the attention from the metal scene around the world. They quickly earned a reputation as a solid and visually attractive live act, performing in Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina. Soon after, they started working on their second and most recent album, titled „The Power & the Will“, which was edited worldwide through the German label PowerProg in 2015. The reception from the media and the audience was excellent once again.
Triddana set foot for their first time in Europe in the year 2016, performing in festivals in Spain and Germany. The response from the audiences was overwhelming, motivating the band to plan its return for 2017. Also this year, the band decided to rework their songs in a new refreshing format, with alternative instrumentation and closer to traditional folk music, giving rise to the production of their newest album „Twelve Acoustic Pieces“ which was released in May.
